Welcome to the St Albans Music School

We are a centre for all things musical in St Albans - Here you will find all the information you need about learning a musical instrument and joining an ensemble.

Young people can begin and continue their musical journey in any discipline with us.

You can register for individual lessons and ensembles by clicking on the links below.  You will then be added to our waiting list and contacted once space becomes available.

We offer trials with our ensembles. Just come along to our reception desk before the ensemble you are interested in and we will introduce you.

Individual lessons

We offer lessons on a whole range of instruments.  Our lessons can be delivered individually, in pairs or in small groups.

  • Piano
  • Brass: cornet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba
  • Classical and electric guitars
  • Drums and tuned percussion
  • Singing
  • Strings: violin, viola, cello and double bass
  • Woodwind: flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon
  • Suzuki: violin and cello

Playing in an ensemble

We think playing together with others in an ensemble/group is a really important aspect of learning an instrument. That's why we have ensembles suitable for all musical interests.
